Apply for an ACTFL Proficiency Assessment

To Prospective Alaska Language Teachers:

For the purposes of No Child Left Behind, the State of Alaska Department of Education has determined that the ACTFL® Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI)® and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) may be used to meet teacher certification requirements for Russian, Chinese, and Japanese.

For information about ACTFL proficiency assessments, the application process and testing procedures, please read the ACTFL Proficiency Assessments Brochure for Prospective Alaska Teachers available through the links on the following pages. After reading through the brochure, you may download the appropriate applications and forms to mail or fax to us, and/or apply directly online.
