Dear Thunderbird Student:

You have been instructed by Thunderbird University to contact the ACTFL Testing Office in order to have your foreign language speaking ability assessed through an LTI Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) for course placement purposes. The ACTFL OPI is a 30 minute telephone conversation with an ACTFL certified tester in the target language.  The interview will be recorded for evaluation purposes.  The result of the assessment will be forwarded directly to Thunderbird University. 

To schedule your diagnostic ACTFL OPI, please fill out the application form available through the links above.

Please be sure to:

* Give us a telephone number where we will be able to reach you to confirm your  appointment.

* Indicate a few dates, which are at least ten (10) business days after the date you will be submitting your application, as well as ranges of times on those days, when you will be available for the interview. 

* Include payment or payment information with your application.  No application will be processed without payment.

Once we receive your application, we will match your availability with that of a tester in the language you indicate and set up an appointment with the tester.  We will then call you to advise you of the appointment date and time, and give you the name of the tester and a telephone number to call for the interview.  If for any reason you need to reschedule an appointment, please contact us immediately. If you miss an appointment without contacting our office 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $55.00 no-show/rescheduling fee.
