The Virginia State Department of Education Division of Teacher Education and Licensure has instructed you to take ACTFL proficiency tests as a part of your application for teacher licensure. For the most current information on test requirements for the specific teaching license you are seeking, please visit their website at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/VDOE/newvdoe/teached.html . If you have any questions about VA teacher licensure, send your inquiry via e-mail to Patty.Pitts@doe.virginia.gov.

For information about ACTFL proficiency assessments, the application process and testing procedures, please read the VA Teacher ACTFL Proficiency Assessments Brochure, available through the links below. After reading through the brochure, you may download the appropriate forms and/or apply online.
