Dear Prospective Florida Foreign Language Teacher:
To facilitate the licensing of teachers for World Languages, the Florida State Board of Education has approved the use of ACTFL® language proficiency assessments. For additional information on Florida Certification requirements, please visit their website www.fldoe.org/edcert.
The Florida State Board of Education rule specifies that to be licensed based on ACTFL testing, the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI)® and the Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) must be offered in the World Language, and the individual must earn a rating of at least Advanced Low on the OPI and the WPT.
For information about ACTFL proficiency assessments, the application process, testing procedures, and scoring, please read the ACTFL Proficiency Assessments Brochure for Prospective Florida Teachers available through the links on the following pages. After reading through the brochure, you may download the appropriate forms and/or apply online.
If you have any questions, please contact us at admin@languagetesting.com.
