Dear Prospective Florida Foreign Language Teacher:

To facilitate the licensing of teachers for world languages, the Florida State Board of Education has approved the use of ACTFL language proficiency assessments.
Florida State Board of Education rule specifies that to be licensed based on ACTFL testing the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and the Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) must be offered in the World Language, and the individual must earn a rating of at least Advanced Low on the OPI and the WPT.
