Dear Prospective Ohio Teacher:

The Ohio State Department of Education has adopted ACTFL® proficiency tests for Foreign Language Teacher Licensure. For the most current information on test requirements for the specific teaching license you are seeking, please visit the Ohio State Department of Education’s website at http://education.ohio.gov or call (877)644-6338 or the Office of Educator Licensure at (614)466-3593.

For information about ACTFL proficiency assessments, the application process and testing procedures, please read the ACTFL Proficiency Assessments Brochure for Prospective Ohio Teachers, available through the links on the following pages. After reading through the brochure, you may download the appropriate applications and forms to mail or fax to us, and/or apply directly online.
