A virtual avatar delivers a series of prompts tailored to your background and proficiency level. Responses are digitally recorded and will be assessed by Certified ACTFL Raters. It lasts from 20 to 40 minutes and is available on demand for your convenience.
Writing
The Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) is a standardized online test that measures a person's writing ability in real-life situations. Candidates are given four to five prompts that can be customized in some versions, dealing with practical, social, and professional topics. This proctored, internet-delivered test takes between 20 and 80 minutes, depending on the proficiency range being assessed.
Listening
The Listening Proficiency Test (LPT) is a standardized online test that measures a person's ability to understand spoken language in real-world contexts. Candidates listen to a variety of spoken passages, including daily interactions, discussions, and broadcasts. After each passage, they must answer three multiple-choice questions. The test is administered via computer or tablet and typically lasts between 50 and 125 minutes.

The Reading Proficiency Test (RPT) is a standardized online test designed to assess the ability to read and comprehend a language without dictionaries or other grammar references. The candidate reads several passages on various social, academic, and professional topics. For each passage, they must answer three multiple-choice questions.
